Baghdad, May 27 (VOI) – Iraq's supreme criminal court building, which includes a trial hall, was evacuated for security reasons on Sunday, Chief Prosecutor Jaafar al-Musawi said.
"The measure would continue for several days," Musawi told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
The senior judicial official, however, did not reveal the nature of security reasons that led to the measure. The court building lies in the Iraqi capital Baghdad's green zone.
He said an officer in charge of security inside the courthouse was changed, adding no one would have access to the courthouse for several days pending the appointment of a new security official.
